About the Initiative

The Arts Initiative aims to celebrate and spotlight the many creative talents that live within our HADDS community. The theme for the 2023 Art Initiative is “Show everyone your superpower!”. We invite individuals with HADDS to submit a picture of their original artwork. All forms of two-dimensional artwork, such as painting, drawing, and digital art, are accepted.

 

Entries can be submitted below from June 1 - 15, 2023. There is a category for individuals under 18 and one for individuals over 18.  Limit of one entry per person. All entries will be uploaded to an online gallery. Voting will be open after all entries are received. One vote per person, and you can share the voting  link for your artwork with family and friends. The winner in each category will receive a $50 USD gift certificate to the HADDS Shop. Additionally, the winners’ artwork will be featured on select items in the HADDS Shop for one year.

Bonus! Following the submission deadline, all participant’s artwork will be available for order on selected items from the HADDS Shop!

Rules & Regulations

  1. Eligibility: The contest is open to all artists diagnosed with HADDS of any age. Age 18+ should be registered in the adult category and under 18 should be registered in the Youth category.

  2. Original artwork: All entries must be original work and created entirely by the entrant. No plagiarized or copied artwork will be accepted.

  3. Theme: Entries must adhere to the theme of the contest as specified in the guidelines. The theme for the 2023 Art Contest is “Show everyone your superpower”.

  4. Medium: All forms of two-dimensional artwork, such as painting, drawing, and digital art, are accepted. 3D art will be accepted only as photos.

  5. Submission: One submission per person. Entries must be submitted digitally in high resolution (at least 300dpi) ad in JPEG, PNG or PDF format. The file must be uploaded using the link on the HADDS Foundation website.

  6. Size: Artwork must not exceed 24 inches in any direction.

  7. Copyright and ownership: Entrants must possess the full ownership and copyright of their submission and sign the authorizing terms and conditions for HADDS Foundation to sell items with the artwork without any feed or royalties to the creator. All funds raised go towards the foundations mission.

  8. Judging: Winners will be selected by an open voting platform on Facebook. The voting time will last 14 days in both categories simultaneously. In the event that a tie breaker is needed, the board with make the final vote.

  9. Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top winners from each category. 

  10. Sales: All artwork submissions will be sold during and after the contest (for a limited time). The winner’s artwork will be available in the HADDS Foundation Shop for a one year period. The profit from all sales will go to the HADDS foundation to support their mission.

  11. Deadline: All entries must be submitted by the posted deadline. No late submissions will be accepted.

  12. By participating in the contest, entrants agree to comply with all the rules and guidelines as specified by the organizers.

  13. The organizer reserve the right to disqualify any entry that violates the contest rules and guidelines, or that is deemed inappropriate or offensive.

  14. Liability: The non-profit organization HADDS Foundation will not be liable for any loss or damage to the artwork, or for any other damage arising from the contest or the sale of artwork.

  15. Submissions that depict nudity, obscenity, violence or anything that is lewd or offence in nature will be excluded from the contest. The HADDS Foundation reserves the right to reject any submission it deems inappropriate.

  16. Agreement: By submitting the artwork, artists agree to abide by their terms and conditions and to grant the HADDS Foundation, the right to use and sell their artwork.
